Another Makeover of Search Engine “Ask”!!
In an effort to increase the number of users, search engine Ask gets a facelift.
Ask refocuses its ability to act as a search engine of choice for the one’s asking questions. In the competitive world of search over the web, rivals are looking at ways to set themselves apart from Google.
Ask is more frequently used for searching for specific answers to questions, as the data from the net measurement firm ComScore states.
The makeover has been made in a re-designed site which is faster, an improved search technology and produces more relevant search results. The site has gone live for users in US on the 6th October and would soon be available on 20th October for the users in UK. The site is believed to have borrowed design ideas from Google.
Ask declared that they are focusing on a user group between the 35-55 year age group. Ask would focus on tricky questions to be answered, as said by its officials.
Not to forget the fact that in UK, Google holds a market share of 8
0% while Ask has 2%. Whereas in US Google holds slightly less than 60% and Ask 2%.
Yet there were 46 million searches conducted in August in UK by the users via Ask. Which means one out of five persons used Ask for searching, which is healthy for the search engine.
