Steps To Determine the battery life of Zune device.
Rip the audio content into the Microsoft Windows Media Audio (constant bit rate) format with a slightly above average audio quality. To locate the rip setting of the Zune software, click Settings >> Software >> Rip.
Step 4: Synchronize this album to the Zune device.
Step 5: Select Settings >> Wireless >> set wireless OFF >> Music >> Repeat: ON >> Display >> Backlight: 15 seconds >> Brightness: medium.
Step 6: The device must be fully charged before disconnecting the device from the Zune Sync cable. Then connect headphones to the device.
Step 7: On the home screen select music >> albums >> Select the album that was ripped in Step 3 >> Set volume to 8 >> Select Play All
Step 8: Set the Hold Switch to Locked and note the time.
Step 9: When the songs stops unlock the device the battery surely must have got drained, note the time.
The maximum battery life depends on the device.
- Zune 80GB or Zune 120GB: 30 hours
- Zune 4GB, Zune 8GB, or Zune 16GB: 24 hours
- Zune 30GB: 14 hours
Now calculate the time difference to determine the time the device actually lasted. If depending upon the device owned by you shows a lot of variation in the time for which the battery lasted then remove the battery clean its contacts and repeat the Steps again. Again calculate the time difference, still it doesn’t show significant improvement then get in touch with the devices support department.
